ACH Child and Family Services
Challenge
ACH exists to prevent child abuse, neglect and family separation and help heal and treat children already affected by these tragedies.
With more than a century of experience working with children, they know that the best way to accomplish their mission is to work with families, whenever possible, to strengthen their ability to care for their children safely.
Our partner Challenge of Tarrant County hired us to provide support and relief for the agency.
Approach
The staff was divided into three groups of 20 participants : two groups at different times and days to accommodate the shift workers who support the children 24/7, plus one group for the counseling staff. We came on-site for 8 weeks to teach a total of three classes per week, one to each group. Because the nature of their jobs are unique, and some groups have clinical training, this enabled The Mindful Project to tailor each class to the audience and need.
Each participant received unlimited free access to The Daily Well for one year so they could continue trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness classes on their own.
